COOMBS HILLIERS RECREATION & COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION (CHRCO)
Commonly known as CHRCO or Coombs Rodeo Grounds, we are a non-profit Society started in 1923 with a mission to unite, enrich and support our community. We have supported SOCAN (www.socan.ca) and our community clubs: The Silver Spurs, Coombs Country Horse 4H, Parksville/Qualicum Oddstock 4H, Parksville/Qualicum Community 4H, The Salvation Army Food Bank at Grace United Church, Coombs B.C., Cups For Cancer, Children’s Hospital and other community charities.
CHRCO offers a safe, fun venue for all ages. We host the largest Bluegrass Festival on Vancouver Island, monthly dances, the Coombs Country Opera, and we have been the home to the Fiddler’s Jamboree.
MEMBERSHIP & VOLUNTEERS
We welcome new sponsored members and volunteers. The cost of membership is $10.00 per person per year and may be paid for at any of our events. If you would like to become a member or volunteer at any of our events, please contact us at #250 927 2747. Our members have first choice of volunteering and are notified ahead of time.
OUR RENTAL FACILITIES INCLUDE
A 300+ seat hall with a full wet bar, a fully licensed kitchen with canteen, a large outdoor Music Festival venue with covered bleachers, and full Rodeo Grounds and arena. If you are renting the full facilities, three areas can accommodate campers with tents to full-sized motor homes. (Sorry, no hookups, dry camping only).
PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE NOT A PUBLIC CAMPGROUND.
Please do not call us for camping reservations. We only offer camping for our rentals and our own events. Coombs Country Campground is next door if you are looking for a regular campground.
Showers and extra bathroom facilities are available during the busy season.
The office is often open during the week plus during special events.
